Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 8, 2026

1. Who We Are

TalkEasier ("we," "us," or "our") is operated from Israel. We provide an AI-powered dating conversation practice platform available at talkeasier.com. For privacy-related inquiries, contact us at privacy@talkeasier.com.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google OAuth.

2.2 Practice and Interaction Data

When you use the service, we collect the full text of your practice conversations with AI characters, coaching requests and usage, and skill progression data including scenario completion and performance metrics.

2.3 Self-Reported Anxiety Ratings

You may optionally provide anxiety self-ratings (a 1–5 scale) after practice sessions. This data may be considered health-related information under certain privacy laws (including the GDPR and Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law). We collect it only with your separate, explicit consent, and you can use the service without providing it. See Section 8 for your rights regarding this data.

2.4 Technical and Usage Data

We automatically collect IP address, browser type, device information, user agent, and session timestamps for security and fraud prevention. If we use analytics (such as Plausible Analytics), we collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics that do not identify you personally.

2.5 Billing Data

Payment processing is handled by Polar. We do not collect or store your payment card details. We receive from Polar your subscription status, transaction identifiers, and billing history necessary for account management and tax compliance.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your personal data for advertising or profiling for marketing purposes.

4. AI Processing

Our service uses third-party large language model (LLM) APIs to generate AI character responses and post-conversation reviews. When you engage in a practice conversation, the messages you type are sent to our AI provider for processing and response generation. This is necessary for the core functionality of the service.

Our AI provider does not use your conversation data to train their models. Data transmitted to the AI provider is retained by them only for a short period (typically no more than 30 days) for safety and abuse monitoring, after which it is deleted. We maintain a Data Processing Agreement with our AI provider that includes Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers.

AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unreliable. All AI characters are entirely fictional and computer-generated. AI conversation reviews are algorithmic assessments, not professional evaluations. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information (such as real full names of third parties, financial details, or government identifiers) in your practice conversations.

5. Third-Party Services

We share personal data with the following categories of third-party service providers, each under a Data Processing Agreement:

  • Authentication: Google (for OAuth sign-in). Google receives your authentication request and returns your name, email, and profile image. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • AI processing: Our LLM provider receives conversation messages to generate responses and reviews.
  • Billing: Polar processes payments and manages subscriptions on our behalf.
  • Hosting: Our infrastructure provider hosts the application and database on servers in the European Union.
  • Analytics (if applicable): We may use privacy-focused analytics (such as Plausible Analytics) that do not use cookies and do not collect personally identifiable information.

6. International Data Transfers

We are based in Israel, which has been granted an adequacy decision by the European Commission, meaning the EU recognizes Israel as providing an adequate level of data protection. Where we transfer personal data to service providers outside Israel or the EU/EEA (for example, to AI processing providers based in the United States), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and conduct transfer impact assessments as required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention

Data Category Retention Period
Account data (name, email) Duration of your account + 30 days after deletion
Password (hashed) Duration of your account

8. Your Rights

8.1 All Users

Regardless of where you are located, you may:

  • Access a copy of your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Delete your account and personal data
  • Export your data in a machine-readable format (JSON)
  • Withdraw consent for anxiety rating collection at any time

8.2 European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland

Under the GDPR, you additionally have the right to:

  • Restrict processing of your personal data
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured, commonly used format)
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority
  • Not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you

8.3 California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA.

8.4 Israel

Under Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law (as amended), you have the right to access your personal data, request its correction or deletion, and withdraw consent. We process your data in compliance with the requirements of Amendment 13, including heightened protections for information of special sensitivity.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@talkeasier.com. We will respond within 30 days (or within the timeframe required by your applicable law).

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies strictly for authentication and session management. These cookies are necessary for the service to function and cannot be disabled.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we use analytics, we use privacy-focused tools that do not place cookies on your device and do not track you across websites.

10. Children

The service is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a user under 18, we will promptly delete that data and terminate the account. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@talkeasier.com.

11. Security

We protect your data using encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, hashed password storage, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we implement industry-appropriate measures to safeguard your data. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice in the service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
