What to say first to an inbound sales lead

An inbound lead already gave you a signal. Do not waste the first message pretending they are a cold stranger.

A strong opener has three parts: the context, the likely reason they reached out, and one easy question.

Example:

Saw you asked about the $3,000 sales sprint. Before I point you anywhere, what made this worth looking at now?

That message does not pitch. It creates a clean path into discovery. The prospect can answer without committing, and you learn why the conversation matters.
